OVERVIEW
Cook’s Illustrated is an American cooking website and magazine by the America's Test Kitchen company in Brookline, Massachusetts. The goal of this project was for the usability to become simpler and to create organization as one uses the website and application.
Background
Current Challenges
The biggest problem that Cook’s Illustrator had was the cluttered screen. The margins were too close together and users had difficultly finding recipes because of how much information was being displayed.
Web Redesign
Application
I decided to create an application for users to easily find recipes they want to make. With the application, you can sign up or login to your account to find your saved recipes. With the recipes, you can learn how to create them with a short video and step-by-step instructions listed underneath it. You can also add items to your shopping cart so that whenever you go to a grocery store, you can pick up the items from that specific one.
Landing Page
Here you will be able to sign up or sign in to your account to find, save, and create all different types of recipes you want.
Home Page
Here you will find a list of recipes that are recommended for you. You may “heart” them which will be saved in your recipe book.
My Recipes
Here in your recipe book, you will find all the recipes you saved. You can find the ratings of the recipe and rate them yourself.
Search
Here you will be able to find any recipe you want. You can add filters depending on what type of category, cuisine, difficulty, and amount of time you want.
Shopping List
Here you can create a shopping list of items you want at different grocery stores. Shown here is Trader Joes but you can create lists for other stores.
